Marsha’s Monthly Language Report: A Special MLR
Join in the language learning fun!
A special MLR collaboration with Constance for Instagram!
I mentioned in an earlier Instagram post that I might start an Instagram MLR thing going and here is the first one! :D It sure was hard fitting two people into the 1 minute limit, but we did it! Though at a cost of cutting out a lot of things we wanted to say, lol.
Subtitles are available in Korean and English.

It has been a month since Shanna and I launched our podcast!
But I completely forgot to post about it. :p
Please take a listen and let us know what you think. :)
SO EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE OUR PODCAST! :)
I have always secretly wanted to be a radio DJ (hahaha) and have been toying with the idea of a Korean podcast (by learners!) for a few years. Sadly, the idea never really took off until.. now!
The idea of the podcast is simple and divided into 3 sections:
- English – where we talk about language learning
- Korean – where we talk about.. anything
- 사연 corner – for you guys to send in stories and comments (like a real radio!)
To help Korean learners, we have also transcribed the entire Korean dialogue!! Of course, we are not perfect and we make mistakes, but hopefully it’s helpful!!
To get it going, help us by subscribing to the Youtube Channel and liking the video (and commenting).
EP1 of the Shabang Show is out on http://www.shabangsong.wordpress.com.
p.s. if you are curious about the show name, listen to find out how it came about

It feels like it has been a long time since I attended the meet up as I missed out on the Christmas one last year.
It was great meeting new and old faces. :) And even though it was burning hot, it was fun bringing tourists around too. A first in our meet ups! Haha. Till the next one!
My photos under the cut.

작년에 이 블로그를 시작하면서 쓰기 연습 자주 하겠다고 했는데 못했네…;;

I was looking through my Timehop the other day and realised that I actually accomplished my Korean language goal for 2013 in 2014!
Unfortunately, there wasn’t much progress in 2015. Or rather, none that I can see anyway. Though one good thing is that my Korean friends have been telling me that my proficiency is still the same as before. Phew! :)
I guess I’m just never satisfied with whatever level of proficiency I’m at. One thing evident of all my TOPIK results is that whilst my listening is my strongest point, my writing is the worst. I hope to do something about that this year.
Whether or not my work would allow for that is another matter. T_T I had planned to read more last year so that my writing would improve, but work took up so much of my time that I only read 1.5 books! D: I really don’t want to waste anymore of my remaining youth working out of office hours; I need to do more things that make me happy! We’ll see how that works out too. :)
I hope everyone has a great year ahead and accomplishes all of their language goals!
What a week of birthday celebrations!
I usually only celebrate my western birthday (5th October), but this year, I decided to celebrate my lunar birthday (八月廿五 or 8th August on the lunar calendar) too! It just so happens that this year, my two birthdays were only two days apart, 5th and 7th October respectively. :D
